I started JLG Resume Consulting because I believe that everybody has valuable skills, experience, and talent. Each of us as individuals has paved a career path that is unique, worthwhile, and in demand.

My Story

For years, as a hiring manager, I was serious about finding a great new hire.  Of course, I would quickly find multiple applicants who had the necessary hard skills-they were good at computers, had worked in the field for years and met all requirements of the job description. But I instead focused on seeing beyond and reaching into finding out what made them unique.  I wanted someone with a spark, someone my team would like to spend time with, someone who my customers would praise, and most importantly, someone who presented themselves as offering me what all the other resumes in the stack could not.  My career path has been layered with many circumstances that I often hear people concerned about when they approach me to find out if it’s possible to help them create a resume that will wow.

I started my career in the hospitality industry as a hotel manager and hospitality software consultant.  Then, I used my business administration degree and some experience in accounts receivable to transition into multiple finance roles, including managing an international team responsible for an extensive portfolio. As I seemed to hit my stride, numerous medical and personal issues resulted in me working part-time in an entirely different industry-assisting children with developmental disabilities.  Later, I returned full-time and started working in medical billing, eventually working as a practice manager for a large, busy medical office.  Finally, my family moved to Texas in 2016, and I have come full circle using my financial and medical knowledge to work with insurance to help children with autism get the care they deserve and are entitled to.

Every step of my journey, I chose to focus on the knowledge that I possessed what any prospective employer would be lucky to have…me as an employee!  Using this same positive attitude and approach, I would love to help you shine and reach your professional goals.
